Most of Fayoum day trips head to Wadi Rayan protected and to Wadi Al Hitan (Valley of the Whales) which are definitely important sites to visit.. But as important as these sites are, the North of Lake Qaroun has very important sites to be discovered and amazing nature to be enjoyed.
This day trip is tailored for an amazing day trip as an escape from Cairo where you can feed your soul and mind on a rich unique day.
Tour program
· Early departure from Cairo to Fayoum (6:45 M At “On the Run” Gas station near the Mena House hotel)
· In Fayoum, Hop aboard a 4WD as we explore incredible historical and natural wonders:
📜 Start at Soknopaiou Nesos (Dimeh City), a Greco-Roman treasure with stunning temple ruins, ancient walls, and a processional road.
🏛️ Marvel at the 4,000-year-old Qasr Sagha Temple, famous for its unique architecture.
🛤️ View Egypt’s oldest paved road from a distance, as walking on it is prohibited to preserve its historical significance. We’ll also explore the nearby Widan El Faras basalt quarries.
🌳 Step back 34 million years at the Petrified Forest Open-Air Museum, where ancient tree logs are perfectly preserved.
🌄 End the day with a hike in Wadi Afreet, enjoying breathtaking views, light snacks, and Bedouin tea.
Get ready for a day filled with adventure, history, and stunning landscapes! 🌵✨
· Move back from Fayoum by sunset or a bit after.
· Back to Cairo around 7 ~ 8 PM
Notes in case of group tours: (Different for private tours)
- Tours are not suitable for children below 10
- Group size: 14 – 15 guests
- Tour language: English, if we have non-Arabic speakers
(If not, then it will be in Arabic) - A minimum number is needed for the tour to take place. We reserve the right to cancel the tour anytime, if it doesn’t reach the minimum number needed. In that case, guests will be advised by email and refund will take place
- Exact drop pin and details about meeting point, starting time, contacts… will be communicated by email 1 day prior to tour date. Kindly make sure you check your email (including Junk folder) 1 day before tour date.

- Bus from Cairo & back
- Top experienced knowledgeable tour guide specialized in Fayoum area
- Guardians tipping
- A light meal during the day prepared by the local bedouins (Cheese, Tuna.. Exact items will depend on the tour date)
- 4 X 4 cars to go to the desert (Main tour)
- General Taxes
Fees exclude:
- Entrance tickets for foreigners (5 USD to be paid in cash USD only/ No EGP by the guest per person on site)
- Online payment fees
- Food & drinks (Example: Coffee breaks on the road.. etc.)
- Tipping & gratuity (Ex: Tour guide – Drivers tips: Bus from Cairo – 4 X 4 driver)
- 14% VAT tax (Mandatory: To be added)
