Tour program
Explore the treasures of “Al Darb Al Ahmar” represented in Bab al Wazir st & Souk al Silah st. This tour is a mix of sightseeing and a photo walk where we will explore history, life in the area of al Darb Al Ahmar and some of its crafts.
On this tour, we aim to visit from inside: The Blue mosque, the complex of Khayr Bayk, Madrassa of Um Sultan Shaaban, Al Maridani mosque
Kindly note some monuments will be explored from inside while most of the monuments we will walk by will be mainly explored from outside as they are not open for the visits. What will be visited exactly will depend on actual situation on tour date.
Total walking distance: 1.5 ~ 2 KM approx.
Please note: This area is not a touristic area at all.. and it is a very local area full with the charm of real Cairo.
Notes in case of group tours: (Different for private tours)
- Tours are not suitable for children below 10
- Group size: 14 – 15 guests
- Tour language: English, if we have non-Arabic speakers
(If not, then it will be in Arabic) - A minimum number is needed for the tour to take place. We reserve the right to cancel the tour anytime, if it doesn’t reach the minimum number needed. In that case, guests will be advised by email and refund will take place
- Exact drop pin and details about meeting point, starting time, contacts… will be communicated by email 1 day prior to tour date. Kindly make sure you check your email (including Junk folder) 1 day before tour date.

I had an amazing experience and time in yesterday’s tour (the city of the dead) I absolutely love it.
