Ghourya to Bab Zuwayla Walking Tour

Discover rare sights, like the old Tarboush shop, step inside functioning historic mosques, and climb the minarets of Bab Zuwayla for a panoramic view of Historic Cairo, a perspective most visitors never see. If time allows, you may pause for a cup of traditional Egyptian coffee in a local café, soaking in the atmosphere.
This carefully curated tour lasts approximately 3 – 4 hours, offering an immersive experience that blends history, architecture, local culture, and hidden gems in one unforgettable walk.

On this walking tour through the historic streets of Cairo, we will explore a selection of remarkable landmarks including:
• Wekalet El Ghoury: One of the most beautiful caravanserais from the Mamluk era
• Qubba of Sultan Al-Ghoury: Part of the impressive architectural complex of Sultan Al-Ghoury
• Gamal El-Din El-Zahaby Historical House: Offering a glimpse into traditional Cairene architecture
• Bab Zuwayla: One of the last remaining gates of medieval Cairo
Depending on the tour day (site openings, weather conditions, group energy, and time available), we may also stop by:
Madrassa of Sultan Al-Ghoury
After the tour, the exploration doesn’t have to end. Wander freely on your own through the colorful Khayameya market, discover hidden corners of Historic Cairo at your own pace, or pause for reflection in the serene Al-Muayyad Sheikh Mosque, a perfect way to absorb the city’s atmosphere.

Our group tours are limited in number, and usually only one group runs per date. Early booking is recommended to secure your place.
