An exclusive visit to the royal palace “Abdeen Palace”
Abdeen Palace symbolizes modern Cairo. It was built to transfer the official royal residence from the citadel to the city center of Cairo. It is from here where a new center of the city was born. The idea was to plan the city of Cairo in the European style to be Paris of the East.
Abdeen Palace witnessed many events that contributed to the establishment of Egypt as an independent state, as this palace was from the beginning of its establishment in 1863 AD until the revolution of 1952 AD viewed 90 years of social and political life between its wings and its halls.
The palace was known by the Jewel of the Palaces. It was built in a neoclassical style with a unique luxury interior that would match the luxury of European palaces in its grand and innovative architecture, as well as its ornate interiors.
Tour program
– Meet the group directly in front of the palace
– Start the tour with an informative interesting historical introduction about the Palace & its builder “Khedive Ismail.
– Followed by a guided tour inside the palace itself with the palace specialized guide to show you some of the palace astonishing rooms and halls like the Throne hall, Queen Nazly room and others.
The palace has more than 500 rooms. The tour will take you through some of its beautiful and unique rooms.
( The visited part is exclusive and it’s NOT open to the public. However, the whole palace is not open for visit. The visited parts are controlled by the palace management. We don’t see all the rooms in the palace.)
Tour duration: 1 hours ~ 1 hour and half
Kindly note that this visit is to the palace itself and it is different from “Abdeen Palace museum”.
Abdeen palace museum is open for public but it is only an annex of the palace and not the palace itself.
Our visit is an exclusive visit with special permissions to the palace itself. They allow only special visits as the palace is a “Presidential palace” today.
Notes in case of group tours: (Different for private tours)
- Once you complete the payment, kindly send us a copy of your national ID/ passport (back & front).
- The palace can welcome guests starting from 18 years old only. Younger guests are not permitted as per palace regulations.
- As per palace regulation, the group size will be around 20 – 25 approx.
- Tour language: English, if we have non-Arabic speakers
(If not, then it will be in Arabic) - A minimum number is needed for the tour to take place. We reserve the right to cancel the tour anytime, if it doesn’t reach the minimum number needed. In that case, guests will be advised by email and refund will take place
- Exact drop pin and details about meeting point, starting time, contacts… will be communicated by email 1 day prior to tour date. Kindly make sure you check your email (including Junk folder) 1 day before tour date.

I had an amazing experience and time in yesterday’s tour (the city of the dead) I absolutely love it.
Our tour guide is a friendly person, good communicator, Excellent English, very knowledgeable about almost everything. I usually have a self walk there and thought I knew quit a bit about it, but this one was totally different… they took us to places I’d never visited, telling us history I’d never known…
“Walk like an Egyptian” is recommended if you want to know the amazing stories behind the streets you walk in every day.
